    When displaying your work, don't rely on people with who you have an affectionate/intimate/friendly relationship, they are biased in your favour and they might not even represent your typical users. Before launching the app, have you done the testing, iteration, etc.....?

    Try using the website "logoai", it will create a list of logos for you (free version will keep the logos in small resolution but it could be enough for your needs. They do look a bit "generic" but...out of 40-50 creations it generates, I'm sure you will find one or two that look good.
