how to design a product, make it and then how do you price it and how do you package it? What is the overall process called? Do you leave the making of the product to companies or do you have to have a design ready then outsource it to them?

It's called Product Development - bringing a product from idea to market.

Broadly do as much as you can for each stage to take you to the next stage and get help where required.

After all, some things are more simple than others.

Excellent recommendation! Selikoff is a beast. whatever you do, also read The Right It by Alberto Savoia. You can see an overview in this video. His book can save you a lot of heartache.
