Last June I sat in a boardroom with 30 of my company "peers", all at least 10 years older than me, none with young children and few who seemed to have balance. This was my FTE. Although I had gotten off on being a bad-a$$ in my career, I no longer wanted that boardroom or the lifestyle of those people. I didn't fit in and I didn't want to. I wanted to be near my family, not across the country. I wanted to be kicking a$$, not ranting about departmental hurdles. Now I'm in the process of creating my own boardroom.
