I believe I came out of the womb loving money. I remember growing up watching all of the get rich quick mother F*ckers on TV and just drooled over the cars, boats and girls that were being displayed. The testimonial portion of these get rich quick infomercials really had me drooling when the clients would hold up the checks and bank deposits of giants sums of money. I wanted that. So I tried every one of them.
Lets fast forward many, many years. What I learned is that if it's too good to be true, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction!
I've had many businesses through out my life. In 2008 I got the pink slip from a job that I believe I would have forever.
2009 I pulled up my bootstraps and started a food company selling my own specialty fresh homemade salsa. I become a celebrity with my salsa and didn't follow through with the next best course of action for my business... I got burned out from my fresh salsa business and opened up a restaurant.
2011 while running my restaurant, I was in "pseudo success" mode, knowingly I wasn't making any money. Gave myself the title Executive Chef had business cards and a small staff.
For the second time in my life I heard the voice. Nope, not from God, but from my deceased father who was a US Marine. "WHAT IN GODS NAME ARE YOU DOING BOY!!!!! YOU'RE DOING NOTHING BUT RUNNING YOUR LIFE AND BUSINESS IN THE GROUND."
2012 I closed down the restaurant and pulled my head out of my a$$ once again. I gave myself 2 weeks to get caught up in my background of web design technology and get a F*cking job. Thank God for YouTube, Google and Lynda.
Fast forward to present time. I work for the government in my chosen field of web technology. I am grateful that I have employment to support my family and I am grateful that I went through the hardships. I understand from these life experiences that I have always been a "Wantrepreneur". Recently talking with a co-worker, I consciously heard the words that were coming out of my mouth... "I WANT this, I WANT that, I WANT to start this..." OMG!
I have since rewired my braincells to the way I think... I am not the same person since finding The Fastlane Forum.
