I recently moved to Mexico on a six month tourist visa with the goal of living here permanently. I can't render services for payment on this visa, money is not an issue but will search for ways to monetize outside the country in due time as prefer to earn, but with what I do, time is needed to survey the battlefield, build relationships, establish who I am, launch social media and other work that can be done without making sales. Determinations of what pivots and tweeks with my skill set that can create a business built on systems with less reliance on incredibly long lead in times and reliance on partners which both have been an issue in the past.
I'm setting a goal to launch a travel related YT channel that I can use as a funnel of all sorts by November 4th. I already have a channel with two videos (one long, one short) from a visit to Ecuador last month that I will piggyback on with 7 subscribers and 300ish views. While not huge numbers it was motivating to get any views/subs as was just throwing a few probes out there and practicing with no linking.
I've only been in Mexico for 8 days and have made several contacts in the area. Just settling in and starting to understand the local ecosystem which is complex and the dynamic will change next month when 10s of thousands of snowbirds come for the winter season.
My first week I was in my dream Airbnb that I had to leave yesterday due to it be being booked out, but I made a 17 day reservation in November for this property and very excited to return. I'm now displaced and staying at a shady hotel for one night and moving to a better hotel or Airbnb later today.
Can say the creative juices are through the roof more each day and feel a peace coming over me that I have not felt in years but yet still in transition mode and moving places has me more engaged in basic needs tasks.
This thread will document the experience of living in Mexico, how my mindset changes in an optimal climate with opportunities everywhere, physical changes for the better, and the groundwork for future business.
Shout-out to @MTF for motivation and advice he has given on his moving to sunny climate thread.
