Launching a $60K Video Game in 4 Months

Okay, guys, update time!

I have since launched the game into early access on November 11th. It was a bit later than my original date, but I desperately needed the extra time for development.

Here are sales data as of today along with 92% positive reviews!View attachment 61465

The game grossed $17,981 in week 1 with 13K wishlists, so it's pretty close to my original estimate. But I think it's spreading a lot more than my first game due to the nature of its genre and the highly positive reviews, already adding another $5K to sales in the past three weeks. Wishlist conversions are around 4.5%, which is low, but I'm assuming that's because it's in early access. When I launch the full game, I expect another good chunk of conversions.

For the month of October, I was pulling 100-hour work weeks, which definitely took a toll on me, but it was also great to see what I was capable of. I think planning short, intense periods of this type of work leads to excellent output.

As for next month or so, I plan on polishing up the game and adding more content before the full release, which I plan to do sometime in January.

Once this game fully launches, I see it surpassing my $60K estimate in year one sales, probably closer to $80K-$100K, which is a nice bonus.
