Thought it was time for new vidz in a new thread. So here we are.

All made on mac. Not pro like my old stuff (cuz I don't know what I'm doing), but we'll get there.

Who should watch:

Nobody. You should all be grinding.
*edit* But if you're not grinding you should be watching.

:)

Well done @SinisterLex ... good to see you on video again.

Two great videos.

The second one is so on the money for me.

Start wide, eliminate what doesn't work, then focus more and more on what does.

Specialising on an industry or vertical has sooo much positive ROI. I've only got 2-3 customers in the same vertical, but the ability to leverage previous learnings makes it a world apart from starting from scratch each time.

This morning I was thinking about a situation that's on my nerves a bit.

Got me thinking about what goes into a job or a product that makes such a difference.

The thing that decides whether or not your product/service really delivers...the total package.

This made me close the thread and not watch your videos. (I'm being serious)
Is that your goal though? Oh, the paradox

Did you accomplish anything after closing? :D

My goal is to leave little value breadcrumbs when I can. Sometimes it's motivation to get back to work. Sometimes it's a tidbit that helps the guy who should be workin' but ain't. If you closed out and didn't get something done, then I'd consider that a failure on my part. Really just feedback. Tells me to be more clear next time. ;)

I went over my headlines from your 15 day challenge again and found some new inspiration/adjustments, so I guess you could say so ;)

Are you copywriting for pay yet?

Not yet, however I'm noticing that I pay a lot more attention to copy on many sales pages I come across.
I suppose it might be a good time to start field testing (I'm currently at day 8 of your challenge).

Attack from the Side - How and What...Not Why?

Probably can get the message from the first 2 1/2 minutes. The rest is a story about NoNovels to relate.

BETTER QUESTIONS - EP1
NLP - Does it Work or Are People Like Jordan Belfort Full of Sh*t?

Better questions is a new series I'm starting where you can ask me anything. I'm gonna answer at least one question a day on video and see if we can come up with better questions that help get to the bottom of whatever it is your mind is stuck on. Questions can be on any subject. Not just entrepreneurship or copywriting.

Main Q:

From a sales/landing page perspective: What makes a great story? (you can take this any direction you want, it's an unknown unknown for me)

If you need additional questions in the coming days: ;)

Q2: From a sales/landing page perspective: Leaving intentional gaps in your story (or pitch) so the reader's mind automatically fills in their story with yours, as opposed to painting the entire picture.

The concensus seems to be to paint the entire picture since that will make their mind do less work.

Q3: Just a fun one/my attempt at storytelling: "Self hacking?"

For example, there are many psychological and chemical triggers which make us do "things."

We get an ego boost when others compliment us...runners high after jogging. That pulls us towards doing those actions again.

One that may hit closer to home for people here is being in a comfortable position, but still wanting more.

The common replies I see are: "What's your why?" or "Your obsession/reason isn't strong enough." Yeah maybe, but it doesn't mean you don't want more.

I used to play video games 12+ hours a day many years back, but I also had decent income. As long as the checks kept coming in, it was no problem.

Even when the checks stopped, going after more wasn't a problem either. Put down the dopamine addiction, then go get the release from making a sale. (same mechanism at play)

Understanding this, I created artificial rewards. Finished that to do list? Called those extra leads today? You get a piece of candy. You get to go out and do useless things.

Slowly, I replaced 12hr-gaming/2hr-work with 2hr-gaming/12hr-work over the course of a year.

(Looking back it wasn't particularly harmful, aside from eyesight. Screens will do that whether it's work or play. So I'm not asking about addiction.)

It started in increments, you did 3hrs work today? You get rewarded with 11hrs of gameplay. At the end of a year, the numbers reversed.

In sales/copy, we can use NLP and other methods to guide others to take an action.

What's something you've done, that was essentially a "self hack" to make you do/say something?

Thanks for these. Great kickstart questions. I'll cover them over the next few days.

Rep+ for being an early adopter and putting your questions out there.

Dang, I'm a pretty skinny dude like yourself, but you got me questioning if I need your diet ebook lol

You mention an interesting distinction. Don't just know their pain, understand it.

The difference between:

Stubbing your toe against the corner table while frolicking across your dimly lit, Victorian style living room.

vs

In a matter of seconds, as you're frolicking across your dimly lit, Victorian style living room, you find yourself in a parallel universe where the laws of physics come crashing down upon you.

Stubbing your toe, as you collapse to the ground, with jolts of excruciating pain coursing through your nerves, to the apex of your kneecaps. Followed by numbness as you roll on the ground like Peter Griffin, exclaiming "SSS...AHH...SSS...AHH"

Tell the RIGHT stories in your copy.

You may not be able to watch this right away. I had to file a fair use dispute due to a short clip from the movie "Suicide Squad." Should be approved shortly.
