What is this a joke? Nobody is going to put a deposit on the price of sneakers in order to rent them. People rent things because they're broke. Also there is a HUGE difference between genders. Women tend to buy lots of shoes/heels/hangbags/dresses. In fact women have on average 20 pairs of shoes. Men tend to have two to six pairs of shoes at most and usually it's because one shoe is for hiking, jogging, walking, formal, work, etc... Not for fashion.
What will end up happening is that some guy who got their sneakers stepped on will come back and want to return the shoes. You'll refuse to give the full deposit back since the shoes are damaged. Then you'll get beaten up to a pulp and end up in the hospital. Either that or the store will lose all it's sneakers during a late night.
