I am 16 with nothing and Lost

    INTRO
Sounds like you’re taking your first steps in the right direction for your future. It also looks like quite a few people responded with some great advice. If I could add something, though, don’t feel so pressured to “have it all figured out.” You’re still very young. Start putting the work in...

Nice! One thing I’ve learned quickly with my drawings is the difference between people who truly appreciate the process of art and those who have no clue. Since people have been sharing the finished drawings they’ve commissioned from me, I’ve had numerous people reach out about paying to have...

@MJ DeMarco, did you get the Einstein Relief from Bill? I checked out the link you shared, and that’s pretty awesome about how rare his art form is. It looks like Android Jones does some legit work, too. I see you have some of his pieces.

    How I can start?

    SIDE HUSTLE
Just as @PetitBourgeoisie said, "listen to complaints." Become curious. Ask questions. Be interested in helping people with their problems. As far as your "not paying much attention to it when talking to people," you're the one who must decide to change that. No person can do that for you.

After 25 some-odd years of not drawing or producing art, I picked up the pencil again back in September. Oddly enough, I’ve sold a few prints since then and am working on some as commissioned pieces. Lol, I didn’t really plan for or expect that to happen.

    How I can start?

    SIDE HUSTLE
Start with what it sounds like you're doing: invest in yourself. You've read The Millionaire Fastlane. Now read The Great Rat Race Escape, and Unscripted. Then, search in this forum for books recommended by those who've accomplished what you strive for. While investing in yourself, start finding...

    Confession of a Wantrapreneur

    INTRO
Welcome! I feel every ounce of what you said, and I've lived it more than I'd like. Forgive the cliches, but they're proven... Move the needle. Take action. Put one foot in front of the other. Just do something. You'll be surprised at how much that makes a difference. I look forward to seeing...

    I need advice

    SIDE HUSTLE
I mean... if you're just looking for a quick buck, you could always sell drugs. Seriously, though, DON'T sell drugs! I say that tongue-in-cheek only because your first post (outside of your very short introduction post) to this gold mine forum reveals a lot. How can anyone provide insight...

What was the most critical mind shift for you?

    MINDSET
I like that example, too. I owned a full-service restaurant from 2021 to February of this year (go ahead, tell me how crazy I was, lol), and I would often remind myself of that principle. It was brutal sometimes, but even with all the challenges, I pointed the finger back at myself. The...

What was the most critical mind shift for you?

    MINDSET
Mine was the realization that I am responsible and accountable for the outcome of my life, period. MJ has mentioned a similar principle in his books, but specifically, I remember getting a gut punch when I read Jocko Willink's "Extreme Ownership." If you haven't read it, here is an excerpt I...

I've Read The Great Rat-Race Escape!

    GOLD! HOT!
I have read "The Great Rat Race Escape." I love how @MJ DeMarco weaved the principles into a good story. I am not sure if I should call it a fictional story, however, since this is the everyday reality of so many people. Incredible book! Now, I have to focus on finishing "Unscripted."

Does Anyone Else Find It Difficult To Converse With “Normal” People?

I completely agree. As I started on this journey a few years ago, I notice I've developed an impatience with average thinking. I cringe when I hear it from others, and I especially cringe when I catch myself being lulled in that direction. Even as I still battle some of those same urges in...
