Hello,
I have read blogs, forums and other such sites for many years. This is the first time I "come out of the closet" and actually participate. I have had a long, difficult, mind numbing yet rewarding career in technology sales. Mainly focused on selling, online marketing, SEO, websites, blogs, social media marketing to Small and Medium sized business people. I was the voice on the other end of all the flash banner ads folks would click on - on sites like this one.
Most of what I have sold was complete bullshit, although some things did actually work the way it was meant to. So I started to wonder if there was an honest way to make money without buying links, spamming forums or falling for a slick salesperson, hustling to make a living and feed his family.
I started with a blogger blog....I wrote content on a topic I knew nothing about (baby gear). I created an Amazon Affiliate account, commission junction account, signed up for adsense and was soon bringing in $200 to $300 a month. The blog is still up, still making money and I have not spent an hour on the site in 2012. Not sure I can link to it, but you can Google "NewMommyReviews" or "Top Luxury Strollers" (I know a thing or 2 about SEO) and find it. I know more about baby slings then any grown man should.
Since then I have created multiple sites, blogs and e-commerce projects with varying levels of success. I have owned my own web development and marketing company, freelanced as a copywriter for start-ups - but have mainly spent my time....thinking. Thinking about how to stop working 12 hours a day....how to put it all together and live the life we all deserve. I am currently employed at a great start-up in Southern California and my latest project is a dating website....downtodate. (you know the end).
I hope to stay inspired by reading and hopefully responding to threads on this site....You don't know me but I thank you for the hustle and for daring to dare.
