I had it on my to-do list to make a proper intro thread today
I've been searching for a online business based forum like this one, as I've found tremendous value in the forum format over the years, as compared to facebook groups, Discord servers, where there is more noise and less value.
In fact, due to my personality tendencies, Discord servers in particular can be much too addictive to me, to stay in it messaging all day, rather than having a nice balance of action taking, and then taking the time to write a thought-out post and slow things down, to actually think about what I'm trying to learn.
Thankfully, I randomly found this forum, and as a big fan of the Millionaire Fastlan book when I first read it in ~2019 I thought it's a perfect fit for me... since I want to grow serious income through online business.
I've dabbled with many things throughout my 20's such as Amazon FBA, selling social media services, launching crypto projects and had limited success with each but struggled to stay consistent to overcome the ongoing challenges. I'm often a victim to the shiny object syndrome and struggle to follow through with the mundane work of maintaining a business, or dealing with the obligations of service delivery. I was good at generating cash through sales, but delivering on the promises... that was a lot of pressure for me. Also, I must admit that when I'm dealing with "large" sums of money it tends to mess with my head and make me overwhelmed.
Recently, I've implemented some systems to be better at following up on things in my personal productivity, so I'd like to tune that ability into online business. And be able to develop some secure income, with systems I can reliably manage (including automating/delegating where possible, but I'm not under the illusion of pure "passive income").
So, yep, I'm here, and interested SaaS and AI opportunities... I feel there is a lot of money available in AI and would like a piece of it.
I actually recently had a SaaS idea that I'd like to pursue, as it solves a need in a fairly niche market... and I know that I can code it myself, being that I have a CS Degree, and ChatGPT has been very helpful with learning development faster.
The idea does relate to something I'm very interested in, and it can help people. Which is big, for me, as someone who has been very tempted to start "sin"-based businesses (onlyfans management, online casinos). I know that MJ is a proponent of the mindset that we can and should make money ethically.
This has been an internal battle within me for the last 2-3 years, in that I've become more idealistic and thinking about morals, duties, responsibilities, and it's made me avoid starting onlyfans management, despite having great opportunities to do so, because I know it's a net negative on the world, and goes against some of my (admittedly still developing/up for debate) beliefs.
I should go ahead and reread the millionaire fastlane parts about starting an ethical business.
But anyways, I know it's not all sunshine and rainbows to "follow your passion", but I see this SaaS idea as something fun and should make minor profit (~$1000/month) and is a good thing to "cut my teeth" on in terms of software businesses.
Airbnb management is currently my main income, and it's just enough to support myself, so I could look to scale that as well, even though it feels like so much work per property. As a CS Major, I've always been excited/fascinated to have a software startup one day, and I do at least have some marketing and social media content production experience, so I'm in a good place for a reset, to take this shit seriously.
Well, just wanted to put myself out there. Look forward to connecting and engaging with you all on this forum.
