Hi all! I started a post in the regular forums all about setting up my own ecommerce store with the eventual goal of creating my own products in that niche. But what I didn't divulge is that I actually came up with the product designs before I even really researched the market, it just happened that the niche looks doable after I looked into it further.
I've got a basic idea on prices for my product prototype from manufacturers on Alibaba, and even tried a few US based companies to compare both. It seems that the price they want to create a prototype would be around the same price it would cost me to actually buy a decent 3d printer and do it myself.
The product I want to create would be perfect for a 3d printer it seems, and I could even sell what I make because the most popular products in the market are just simple plastic designs. But even if I did not pursue that avenue right away, I could at least use it to build my own prototypes, or prototypes for others at a much lower cost and use that as a separate business idea?
My problem would be the initial investment would either mean a bank loan, or credit card payments which I understand is frowned upon in the Fastlane. But if it leads to a Fastlane idea, would it still be beneficial to look into further?
