Freedman started 42Floors in 2011 to make office space rentals and commercial real estate listings easier to search. The site indexes offices for rent, coworking spaces, office sublets, and executive suites, allowing users to find an office that fits their criteria. The company developed out of Freedman’s own experience trying to find an office. “When my last company needed a new office space, I couldn’t believe that there was nothing online to use. It’s just shocking really, in 2012, to find this large of an industry that doesn’t use the web at all yet. And for guys like me that like to see things before they visit, it just felt natural that I should be able to do so online.â€
