The one that really struck home with me was the women named Sandy Stein, who invented the "FindersKeyPurse" (the little accessorized/decorative hook that latches over the seam of your purse, and keeps your keys in one spot hanging neatly inside. For any of the girls out there, Im sure you can attest to how handy that is, as I watch my GF dig through her purse for her keys literally EVERY DAY, as they always seem to get sifted to the bottom (she gets out of the car and throws her keys in her purse as she walks into the store. Once at the cash register in the store, she pulls her wallet out, and presto...keys are at the bottom of the purse
).
Now think about that for a second. Such a simple, easy to make little device (basically just a hook with a little colorful charm (tons of different varieties) on one side that clips onto your purse), that turned someone into a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE!
"Within four months of launching the product, Stein's company reached had $1 million in sales; at the eight-month mark, more than one million units were sold. Parent company Alexx expected 2010 earnings to total about $6.5 million."
Why? Because it solved a common need on a MASSIVE SCALE! The EXACT same concept MJ preaches over and over on here and throughout his book!!! The inventor found herself saying, "That is annoying, I wish there was a way to..." and, and she went out and executed the idea!
Just another example of how it dosent take an incredibly innovative or complex invention to become very, very rich. Just solve a need and make something easier for people. This article put me into brainstorming overdrive.
