Hi, the name's Thomas. I read Millionaire Fastlane over a year ago. After October, I let this account die. For most of 2023, I had forgotten Fastlane Forum so much as existed.
Last night, I had been musing on the last few months, they blurred together, I'd basically lived the same life week-to-week with few interrupts. Much of what I'd set out to do, had gone undone. I got frustrated, and went to Youtube to find some distraction, there I found a clip of Sam Sulek, describing frankly the need to adapt if no progress is displayed for your efforts. That it's on you to assess the need for change and then do it. Just below that, I found a short by Alexi Hormozi titled "How you can move up in your career," about networking, finding good advice. It reminded me about this forum. Finally, I read MJ DeMarco's email from about 4 days ago. (Link's to the attendant thread).
Whether it's Providence's Hand or weird coincidence, I've found my way back here. Reviewing my old account, I saw I never posted, nor introduced myself, properly.
I'm an Amazon E-Commerce operator: I wake up, I manage the listings, I source them, they arrive, I unpack them and put them on the shelves, I package them, I label them, I ship them typically twice a week. Every week, for four years.
I've been partnered with my father, whose own enterprise has more recently stalled, and together we've been paying the bills. Maintaining our situation. And not much else. Not to say this business is purely breakeven, a cycle developed by now: we accumulate capital by the process above, "prepare to outsource" the various tasks, fail to actually do so, and whether its moving homes or a family emergency, heavy expenses and weeks of shutdown sees us hemorrhaging money, the cycle repeats, three times now at my count.
I'm 25 now, in six years, I'll be 31. I want to be unrecognizably better. I don't want to be doing this same thing.
Hoping to learn, to help out, if I can. Glad to be back.
