So I've read the MFL around September and, since reading it, came up with millions of 'ideas'. Joined the website in November and started putting some of those ideas into action. Grand total of how much money I made to date: $0. I notice there are a people on this website have this same problem: We haven't even gotten to $1 yet. So I think it would be fun to make up a challenge to record progress. First I will give a little bit of history about what I have done so far (skip the next paragraph if you don't care about my personal story lol).
My first 'project' was a spin-off of the million dollar homepage. I targeted a specific niche, and needless to say- It did not work out yet. The idea will have some future potential, but I have other short term projects that hold a priority now. I'm not saying this has been a complete failure so far. I learned a lot of lessons of what NOT to do: My idea was not as great as I thought it was, 51%, you can't just build something and expect it to take off out of nowhere, etc. I have also taught myself HTML/CSS, have a familiarity with Javascript and am in the process of teaching myself PHP. (For those of you interested- teamtreehouse.com for HTML--->W3schools for a reference--->thenewboston.com for more HTML/CSS videos. In about a month's time, I became fairly proficient at these two languages). So I have learned some stuff, but still have $0 so far.
So I would like to present a challenge to anybody on here who has not made it to that first $1 yet, or anybody starting up their journey. Those of you who are successful, feel free to tweak it as you wish for your personal goals. The challenge I am presenting is broken down into different levels. You reach each level when you bring in a certain level of income that is separate from your salaried jobs if you have one. It could be anything from selling old furniture, writing eBooks, building websites, to writing software.
Level 1: $1
Level 2: $100
Level 3: $1,000
Level 4: $10,000
Level 5: $20,000
Level 6: $50,000
Level 7: $100,000
Level 8: $500,000
Level 9: $1,000,000
Level 10: Idk, think of something cool to put here?
As you can see, going from one level to the next will take different strategies and approaches. The first few levels could easily be reached by selling old stuff on ebay, but to make it to the top; you might have to reconsider your approach. I will use this thread to keep track of my progress, and I will probably ask for a lot of advice along the way.
Level 1: While typing this, I sold an old rifle scope on eBay for $60. First income outside of my job so far. For Level 2, I will continue the same approach with an old guitar that I don't play anymore.
My short term plans for levels 3-5 is by writing an eBook that I plan on releasing next week. I have a long term plan that is in the form of a website that will take me some time to build, but for now I will focus on the eBook and check in by next week for some help marketing it.
If anybody else is up for this challenge, feel free to post here.
