Hey everyone, I have an idea for a product that will bring existing product in a house up to the 21st century. This product could lead to a huge green movement and another way to monitor its use in the home.
My product does what pebble did to the watch, but with a different household item. This idea could explode into so many other things and many licensing opportunities.
Because what I am trying to accomplish is close to what pebble did to the watch, I’ll use them as my example.
What steps did pebble take to protect their idea of putting Bluetooth into watches and useing watches to run apps? Can they patent the concept of using a watch for apps or having a watch use Bluetooth where other companies who want to put Bluetooth or apps into a watch need to license the concept from pebble?
I know that pebble got their start from kickstarter, but in order to run the kickstarter they needed to have a prototype. I also want to go this same route. Build a prototype, and try to get investments to manufacture this product. How did they get funding to build there prototype before launching? There has to been tens of thousands of dollars in that prototype. I would probably need a good chunk of change to produce my prototype because of the technology that needs to be used for it to work.
I see a need in the market for this concept and I see that the future is going in this direction. There are also many different branches this could expand onto. I’m pretty broke but would hate to have this pass me by because I don’t have any money for a prototype to use to then get funding to manufacture.
