Hi all!
I'm not usually one for longer introductions, but I'll make an exception here since this community seems so supportive.
A bit about me - My story with MJ's work started when I was around 19. I read The Millionaire Fastlane avidly back then, but my 19-year-old self was too busy caught up in the trappings of the slow lane, the sidewalk mentality, and everything else the script said was important to really try and deviate from it.
What happened over the next decade was a rollercoaster - I found myself on the sidewalk at times and then firmly in the slow lane, flirting with the idea of the fast lane but never doing the work needed and making the commitment.
The irony is that it wasn't until I finally achieved all those scripted dreams I was told to have in my early life - the 'good' salary, the apartment in the city, the 'Career', the supportive partner, all the things that supposedly equal "success" - that I realized it's not the life I really wanted. I was living somebody else's script, not free to do what I truly wanted.
Throughout this period, I picked up MJ's other books too - Unscripted and The Great Rat Race Escape - and read through them quickly, but never really spent time learning and applying the material. The Script had such a hold on me! (This is changing and I have just finished re-reading The Millionaire Fastlane after finding my original copy in my parents' loft and just started reading/listening to Unscripted ).
Now I'm at a point where I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. That's why I'm here, taking this moment as my proper introduction to the community. I will be around on this forum regularly. I'm committed to putting one foot in front of the other, taking concrete actions, leaning into my goals, and genuinely changing my life. I'm fully committed to living in the fast lane over the next decade to set myself up for the following 2-3 (all being well).
I hope to meet like-minded people here who understand are on this journey, sharing my progress, learning from your experiences, and being inspired by those of you who have already taken the leap and achieved success in your own fast lane journeys.
Lovely to meet you all, and I'm excited to be an active part of this community going forward!
