I'll start with a confession! Been a long time lurker on the forum but I decided it was about time I joined this wonderful community. Having recently read MJ's book it really opened by eyes to the framework and theory a venture should be based upon.
I currently run my own event rental business hiring out furniture,marquees providing for weddings and parties etc. Although it's been going ok and turnover is around what I predicted for year one. I have come to realize this model breaks many of the fastlane principles!
In the short term one of the dilemmas I'm faced (which to be honest I should have forseen) is that the current business revolves around the weekend with 95% of bookings made for the Friday drop off and Monday pick up . During the week I have the occasional hire but most of the time is spent doing admin and replying to enquiries. I either need to find a product or service which would solve this issue or I'm trying to find a venture which could fill the week day and weekends with no booking on. This could perhaps be the next chapter in my life......
On a more positive note I'm under 20 and still have time to turn it around and 'make it' before old age!!
