Yesterday, April 15[SUP]th[/SUP], Lonnie Scruggs passed away. Lonnie was a good friend and mentor of mine for 18 years. He helped tens of thousands people learn how to ‘create their own economy’ by buying old mobile homes then reselling them with seller financing which created cash flow.
Lonnie created the mobile home investing industry. Ask any investor what a “Lonnie Deal†is and they can tell you. Very few “gurus†have a whole strategy or technique named after them. But Lonnie did. He was special… in so many ways.
His down-to-earth folksy style appealed to everyone. He was great at making a complicated topic easy to understand. His book Taking the Mystery Out of Money – understanding how you can stop working for money and get money to work for you - is a classic example.
For the last 7 years, I ran Lonnie’s web site, www. LonnieScruggs.net Over and over again people asked, “when is Lonnie going to teach another seminar?†Lonnie always replied that he just didn’t want to travel anymore. There were too many hassles.
So, I came up with the idea to bring the seminar to Lonnie.
I called Lonnie to ask if he would consider teaching one more seminar if we have the seminar right in his town at a hotel close to his house and he could sleep in his own bed every night. At first he said he’d have to think about it. Then he called back just a few minutes later to say YES, it would be fun.
As the seminar got closer, Lonnie got more and more excited about teaching the event. I think he knew this would be his last seminar because he shared more information and more ‘reasons why you need to create your own economy’ at that event than any one I’d ever been to before. It was pure magic.
At the end of the event, Lonnie said he was glad I talked him in to doing one more event. Luckily it was all captured on video.
Lonnie’s training will live on at www.LonnieScruggs.net And his many students will pay it forward by continuing to teach others about Lonnie Deals.
