I'm Ricky from Singapore. I'm a typical sidewalker, growing up indoctrinated with the idea of "the only way to get out of poverty is to get a good degree followed by high-paying career". Therefore, I worked hard, get a degree, work and work, setup a family along the way, getting busy my whole life through finally reaching my current age at 52. Now that my kids are not so dependent on my care much (except for money support), and suddenly I chanced into reading your 2 books, TMF and Unscripted (I owned both books in kindle & print book version). It makes so much sense and liberating after reading the books. But at 52, I'm not sure I have the confident that I might be able to built something on my own. I visualize myself building a business in the meantime and then later partnering with my son (who is now 16 and in 5 years time finishing a degree and start work), to venture into the world of gaming or system design. I also tried to persuade and support my two older daughters who had finished their diploma to build businesses on their own, instead of getting a job. Better to try at younger age then risking in fear to dive into business after settling on career and family.
I hope these 2 books will constantly be my guide while I'm on my last journey to pursue building some earning-capable businesses and hopefully bringing my kids into the path of UNSCRIPTED life.
