Hello,
Thanks for providing the platform to introduce myself. I've ordered the book and it's arriving via express post to be received tomorrow! Cliffs about me:
-28 years old, from Sydney, now living in London.
-Never went to University.
-I started my first sales job at 18.
-I sold car wash in a can 5-6 days a week on commission only, at gas stations. (I would pitch prospects in the time it took them to fill up their tank)
-At times I struggled to have enough money to buy transport to commute into work.
10 years later:
-I currently now work in saas sales.
-I have had success from earning 20k+ per year at 18 to now earning 150k+.
-Top sales person globally within my last two SaaS companies.
-Bought a house @ 26.
-Moved to the other side of the world Sydney - London.
-Have scaled software sales teams from $0 revenue to generate multi millions p.a.
--------
Why am I here...?
Deep down I know that being an employee is not the end game for me. Whilst I make ok money, it doesnt give me the fulfilment I crave. I want to go down this path to prove that I can add value to the marketplace with my own products/services. I can't die wondering "what if"
I don't live the lavish life, I don't drive fancy cars or wear particular clothes or buy expensive items to impress people.
I am driven, persistent and practise certain habitual behaviours daily, which have played a major success in getting me to where I am today. Read "The Slight Edge" if interested in getting to know more.
I'm very system orientated and can display weakness when things are not in particular order. I'm more logical than creative. I've sat a few personality tests to get that feedback.
I'm a big believer in personal development and growth. Growth within myself, others and opportunities.
I'm looking for an avenue in which I can dedicate my time to evolve outside of the employee mindset - I'm looking for a switch in how I see the world. I'm looking for a new lens to look out of.
I understand that success takes years, similar to that of progress and results within the gym. I've grinded and there is no magic bullet, there are no shortcuts, the moment you accept that and stop looking - you can then direct your time into more valuable areas.
I hope to learn and most importantly apply the information within this forum to take action, fail, learn, take more action, fail learn etc.
I need to make a decision on a path to take and stick it through to the end, stop jumping from opportunity to opportunity. Opportunities are endless and focus needs to be on one.
I look forward to networking with those who are ahead - I believe success leaves clues and modelling behaviours can help you avoid mistakes. I can't wait to learn with you all, and in time give back to the community.
Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.
Kind Regards,
Ryan Donnelly
