Some background information
I am in the process of building my first ecommerce store. It is niche based for now, but has the potential to expand. My store model is dropship, so I am just another "me too" store. However, I have done research to determine that there is a demand that I can meet, and I have evaluated key phrases to know that I can reach page 1 in google for most of my phrases within my niche. So, at least my "me too" store will be seen for free through organic traffic over time. Again, my domain name and branding in the stores copy will let me expand.
To put my niche into perspective, it is like starting out selling living room furniture and eventually expanding to an entire home goods store (not my niche). Though within living room furniture you have a bunch of niches in itself like my store.
I made a "mistake" on this store by being too far reaching. Even though my seo and category structure is fine, I have so many categories and products. So, a bit overwhelming for starting out and will be a pain when I go to do paid advertising. I have managed to cut out some products so my customers aren't overwhelmed with choices from a category. I should've went with a simple niche that has like 50 or less products and some accessories for my first store.
Anyways, my questions
I have the products, images, descriptions, prices, logo and some sales copy on my site already. Going to install a way to accept credit cards on site.
Should I just launch the store? Am I just wasting time by going through and trying to add all my on page content, trust graphics, color schemes, etc. before I launch? I've given up on adding sales copy to specific product pages (other than descriptions) before I launch because I have too many. I wanted to make use of the free $100 in ads google gave me, so I want my site to be ready to convert traffic into sales. But again, should I not think like this and just launch the damn thing?
Posts on here about cutting out all the bs and to not be an action faker has lead me to ask this question to see if it applies to my situation.
Any google ads advice? I bought an udemy course and am doing some research on my own. But since I started with so many categories, or niches, in one store, how do I go about advertising for all of these? Do I focus on the most profitable category/groups and move on from there? Do I just bid 2 cent ads on all my "junk" products (not my main traffic drivers)? I know I can group products and create bids on these groups.
I want to drive traffic to my store on day 1 through paid ads so I can get to page 1 on google and other search engines faster. So, I'm assuming I should focus my efforts on google shopping ads and a bit of effort into google adwords.
If you can't tell I am lost on where I should be starting with ads.
All advice is appreciated, thanks!
Edit: Any advice on giving my site an affiliate program?
