Hey Guys, i am going down several paths at one time here (diversifying) while managing my day job still :/ ... i hope i am on the road to financial freedom in the rather near future - at least be my own true boss.
anyways, here is one idea i am trying but i have some questions.
About a year ago i saw some amazing pictures from commercial application of aerial photography (with a drone/quadcopter) and thought that i had an angle that i could be successful with it myself.
since then drones have been making news, more and more people are getting on board. there are avenues for the business end but also maintenance, parts, etc... - its a growing industry.
i think i have some good industry connections where i think i can market the aerial photography aspect commercially.
to date i have been working on a website, ordered equipment (cheap and can always return it), and listed an ad (already was contacted for jobs).
here is the BIG QUESTION: as far as i understand it, the FAA is currently reviewing the commercial application of drones and more or less put a hold on commercial operations. with what i am targeting i am going to be on private property most of the time. i understand there are some guidelines that i need to follow.
but i am curious - with the FAA pending a decision on this, might i be better off staying out of this niche?
does anyone have experience in this field?
All feedback/comments are welcome, thank you guys!
Gregor
