I am launching a project in a few weeks and I have 1 problem that I cant seem to solve to my satisfaction. I was wondering if anyone could provide some ideas that might work.
I need to create an affiliate program to drive traffic to my site, but there are no transactions that produce revenue- I cant pay a commission to the potential affiliate of the transaction. The site will generate revenue, just not from transactions that occur on the site. I have thought of paying a flat, per lead fee for each referral but that is too easy for scammers to exploit without the ability for me to verify the authenticity of the referral. My other thought was setting aside a percent of the sites revenue and sharing it among the affiliates on a percentage basis (if a particular affiliate generated 12% of referrals they would receive 12% of the "affiliate pot"). The big problem with this is that an affiliate wouldn't really know what they could earn until they were doing it for a couple months.
What would be a good way to get an affiliate to drive traffic to the site? I am open to any suggestions.
