What this is about, is the pros and cons of running reviews for e-commerce sites that do not get a lot of review compliance.

I see two trends. Either...
- Allow customer reviews, but have very few. Getting customer reviews on even big brand sites looks difficult, and the outcome is a small number of reviews, old reviews, etc.
- Have no place for reviews, and have the customer search elsewhere on the web for such things.
The downsides I see to both are:
- Reviews - Compared to places like amazon, your 5, 10, or 15 customer reviews is going to look puny and make it appear people don't buy often, right? Also, assuming people trust the on-site retailer product reviews.
- No Reviews - Obviously having your potential customers possibly leave, unconvinced, or to search for outside reviews and may never return.
