Hello all,
I'm not a frequent poster here, but I have been a reader for a while. This place is great.
It's 12:30pm, I'm dozing off after a long, very successful day, and decided to post this on a whim. We delivered a working beta for a client today with much gratitude and praise for our work. It looks like we'll have projects with this client for the rest of the year. However, I also got word earlier today that my parter in our new business just got hired full-time by a large, well known software company. It's a household name. I'm very happy for him, but it also brought some bad news. His agreement basically forbids him from having anything to do with, or developing for, another business entity, such as an LLC which we were planning to start. (I had just contacted a DKA affiliate this week, actually.)
It comes at a good time, since we have not yet made the moves on structuring, although it is needed soon.
His company does allow him much wider privileges if the entity is a nonprofit. Which is something we could consider.
Just wanted to get some input. Anyone have experience with nonprofits? Any Ideas?
