When dealing with anything that may become a potential legal issue, make sure to always establish a paper trail of things like police reports, criminal records of your opponents, reports of negligence and even recordings and videos of wrongs that were done against you. These items can and will help in proving your case if ever you should have to go to court.
This one simple lesson is one I learned quite well when my company went through the court system and today it was proven once again when my girlfriend was being sued by her former landlord because she walked out of a contract.
To make this quick and without going into alot of detail, where she formerly lived, the company that ran the place would do things like work on the water without notifying the tenants, break up concrete with such force that it would damage interior walls and cause so much dust that medical attention would be needed and even hire incompetent maintenance workers who would damage personal property and leave a voice mail admitting to such.
The list goes on further with police reports of our cars being broken into and even electricity being stolen by a neighbor but because I made sure to gather a paper trail of all of these issues, which then included me writing a letter to the landlord outlining IN DETAIL why the contract needed to be broken stating health and safety reasons, the landlord's legal team dismissed the case even though they tried to use fear and intimidation by using the officiality of the court system. heh heh heh
Been there, done that. And the funny thing at the very end of all of this was when one of the attorneys said that it was dismissed and said he would "mail" us a document stating this, UH UH... I need a hard copy right here right now stating this... Boy did he squirm! And then said that it would be a dollar lol...ok and then it became .50 ...uhhh ok.. and then it was free! LOL what a joke
Bottom line, don't let people play you or your business by using the FEAR induced by the legal process and establish that paper trail!
