I hope I'm posting thins in the correct forum. If not, My apology and mod feel free to move to its correct place.
I've been trying to break into real estate for a long while now and really started going full force for the last 2 months. I don't really have a lot of money to work with since I lost my job a few months back when they went out of business. I feel like I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. But on here it says I need to be working at least 60-80 hours a week in my business. Trust when I say I DO NOT mind working those many hours on my business because I want this SO bad.
Since I don't have a lot of money to start with, my strategy is wholesaling. My marketing budget is very small combined with a lot of hustle which makes up for it which is driving for $ and looking up addresses, sending out mail pieces to Home owners with equity, and putting out signs. For those whose into REI they'll more so understand what that means.
The thing is, what I'm doing to grow my business don't really require the amount of hours most people on here is saying it takes to grow your business. And I'm doing EVERYTHING that the RE course I bought tells me to do for my business along with the tips i pick up in real estate forums. But in this business it thrives on leads and despite the marketing leads are still minuscule. I feel like I'm not working enough because I'm not hitting the 80 hour per week mark. What i'm ding usually only requires about 20 hours a week tops and this is doing EVERYTHING that I'm being taught to do to find motivated sellers.
So my question is, is it bad that I'm working 20-30 hours per week tops even though I'm doing EVERYTHING possible thats required of me to grow my business? Like seriously some days I'll Start at 5am and be done by like 12 non with nothing else to do for the day because it took me about 2 hours to put out my signs, 2 hours to drive my target neighborhood, An hour to look up the addresses, and about an hour to set up and send out the letters depending on if a use a fulfillment service or write them out myself. Then I'm just done and start watching netflix or something etc because I've literally done all I could as far as my avenues of marketing for my business with the money I have to do it. All thats left for me to do is wait and hope my phone rings from the marketing I put in place.
I do attend REA meeting to network with other investors which really takes about 2 hours of my time per weeks because its only certain meeting I can attend thats close to me. So is theres something I'm missing? Like I said I dont mind doing the 80 hours per week millionaires says it requires for your business but It really doesn't take me that much time at all to execute. Most people even do what I'm doing Part-Time and grow a business doing so but If I can be doing more with my time that pertains to my wholesaling business please let me know because I dont want to be underworking. I'm coming here for advice because everyone in my family mostly makes under $30k per year and my friends are ever worse off so I dont have the right people to go to in my life and ask these questions. I'll be going back to work full time in 2 weeks time since I'm running out of cash but if I should be doing more please let me know. As I stated I get a lot done working 20-30hrs on my business and don't see what I could be doing to fill up the rest of the 80 hrs. I dont wanna just do busy work just to say I'm working because that would be a waste. Thanks in advance guys. I love this forum.
