I am trying to brainstorm a millionaire idea and have posted a few before. But I think I have one that might work better than the others and was wondering what people think.
In all the sites such as Expedia, Kayak, Travelocity etc. they expect you to put in some dates of travel and they display a list of tickets available for those dates. They do allow a few days either side for flexibility but not much more than that.
Other sites such as Delta.com show you a matrix of ticket prices within just a couple days of travel.
I was thinking about a site that gives you total flexibility on dates based on airfares. In other words - say I want to go to Disneyworld on vacation next year. I can go on vacation anytime and want to find the lowest fare in the next 6 months to go. So all I would do is put in a date range like Jan 1 to June 30, and the departure and arrival airports. Then I can see fares ranked cheapest to most expensive in that range. The program could scrape other travel sites to find the best fares. That way I could choose my travel dates based on cost and save a bunch of money.
Businesses could use it too. I work for a manufacturing company and there are many times we visit suppliers and customers that the dates are not set in stone. If I could save $500 by delaying my trip another week, I could definitely do that in most cases.
Would this even be doable? Are there sites that do this already? I would love a site that would allow me to do this. What do you think?
