Hello, and thank you! I've just joined the forum and look forward to some interesting discussion. Just wanted to make an introduction, so let's get started.
At times it feels like I'm just another power plant, plugged into the Matrix...but it's come time to unplug. I've been in manufacturing/engineering for almost 20 years and have finally realized that if I want anything more from my career, I'm going to have to change lanes and make it happen on my own.
I've seen so many bad managers, so many bad decisions, and people treated so badly...yet those companies still enjoy so much success?!?!? I'm optimistic & convinced that I can run the business and do it better. Besides I'm too far along (read "old") to simply save 50% of my income and invest it, hoping to retire off the returns.
So I'm making an effort to learn about the Fastlane! I'm starting a small "semi-automated" design & manufacturing business to focus on B2B sales of custom *************** devices. (There are obvious generalities to maintain at this point because I'm still working a 9-5 job in the Matrix.) I've chosen a field I really enjoy and where I already have some valuable experience. Thus I also know the market and some of the players in the field. I'm almost finished building a "starter" shop in my pole barn and bringing it up to the level of professionalism that will be required for a startup. I've also received my business license, bought my website, contacted a tax professional, and started acquiring the equipment I'll need. There is still quite a bit to do, but I'm so excited to be making progress!
As a novice to business startup, I'm eager to receive input from the forum in this regard. So please feel free to make any suggestions/comments/constructive-criticism as you are so inclined. Thank you in advance.
Like so many I've read about here, I'm anticipating good things in the future. Godspeed!
