I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet.
I was wondering if any bloggers here would be interested in monetizing their blog with micropayments for premium content/blogs?
Here's how it would work: You sign up for a service that lets you generate a javascript code to insert in blog bodies before you publish your content. When readers visit this premium page the page is locked and readers are presented with 2 options:
1. Pay (for example) $0.99 for 1 time access to the page
2. Sign up with (monetization service) & pay $0.99 per month for access to all the premium content on the blog
On the flip side, the monetization service would really be like a "Netflix/Hulu" of blogs. To be exact, think of it as an app store for premium blog content. Readers visit our site where they are presented with a list of great blogs that offer premium content, and pay the monthly rate you decide (like $0.99 or even $5 if you provide some seriously valuable content) for access to your premium content. What is premium content? It's the content you create that's so good that you think you should be charging extra for it or putting it into the page of an eBook, that content that provides extra value to your readers that they would be more than happy to pay a small rate for.
I'm a blogger myself and it's no secret that the traditional ways of monetization (IE advertisements, affiliate products & product funnels) are pretty outdated and difficult to monetize with for many in this day and age. These micropayments for access to premium content in this app store-like environment for blogs (I think) would effectively provide bloggers with a new and more modern way to monetize their content that people are now used to (thanks to the app store) but also provide readers with a way to get MORE value out of the blogs they read.
