Hello everyone, my name is Brad. I wanted to give some insight on those who are starting their very first business, and just stepping into digital presence for your business. I own a digital marketing agency, and I wanted to give you guys some things that almost every client we onboard fails at.
Your target keyword can make or break your business.
Considering the fact that 82% of people use Google as their go-to search engine, it should be pretty obvious it's where you want to start right? You would be correct, and most do. The HUGE issue that lies in this topic, is how poorly executed business owners get their listing online. There is a TREMENDOUS amount of effort that should be put into your Google Business profile, and website, starting with keywords.
Google give you a lot of extremely powerful tools at your disposal, all for free. For example, the Keyword Planner tool.
This little puppy right here can make or break your business when it comes to lead generation. It can be accessed for free by creating an account at ads.google.com.
Click the keyword planner, then select "Discover New Keywords"

You can easily pop in and narrow down your search area, and search keywords. For example, if a new client who did pressure washing were to ask me about running Google ads, I'd do an analysis and see how many average monthly searchers are looking for their services, and what people were typing in to find said business. You can see, in Miami Florida, there's an average monthly of 210 searches for the keyword "Pressure washing near me" with a cost per click of $10 on the high side. This is a great way for you to get an idea of how much business you can potentially capture in your area!

The purpose of this thread is to show you how you can find these golden eggs Google has lying around for you to use for free. A LOT of clients have no idea about keyword research before starting. In another example, we had a Roofing client target the key term, "Roofing Contactors" when after doing a thorough analysis, we found that there were 4x the number of monthly inquiries searching "Roofers near me". While yes, targeting Roofing contractors is great and all but Google's objective over everything is to give the searcher the absolute best result for their query, and targeting the exact term verbatim is where the money is.
