Hello guys. I'm not a great poster on this forum but today I felt like posting it here, so, here's a little background.
I opened my mind to the world of financial success with The Millionaire Fastlane about 2 years ago. At the period I was already almost dropping college. So from that point on there were some ups and downs: was a law student, decided to drop college (75% done) because I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit (selling things on the side before even reading anything, even Rich Dad Poor Dad) and hated the idea of being a lawyer or working for the government.
At this point I didn't had a clue about what I would do with my life. I just knew that I would run a business. At the same time that TMF opened my mind to business it also opened to internet. The concept of scaling all over the country and perhaps OTHER countrys was something that I haven't even dreamed of.
I've always been a big fan on Anthony Robbins since I got to know him and his videos on youtube. I've always been a big fan of Elliott Hulse too, since his videos inspired me to become a better man during my teenage years. His ideas about discipline, sacrificing, working hard and being determined to go after what you want were fundamentals in the development of my character.
I know that many of you criticizes Tony Robbins because he fools people or something like that. But the things he said have an enourmous impact on the quality of your life if you really apply it, which I know from experience, and that's because he plays such an important role on my life and my carrer choice - as you will see later.
So, I've always loved self-development and when I experienced what Tony Robbins talks about a spark just lightened to me for NLP. Because guys, emotions plays a HUGE role on your life. If you have the ability to master your emotions you can become much more efficient in achieving success.
NLP stands for Neuro Linguist Programming (for those of you who don't know) and its the basis of Tony Robbins work. It's the "science of excellence", they sell.
So, a friend of mine - coincidentally - told me that he did a "leader training" (which is almost an imitation of Tony Robbins' Unlimited Power seminar, where people firewalks and stuff) and it was a great experience but the most important point was: It was VERY PROFITABLE to the owner. So, we had this crazy idea of opening one ourselves.
So, decided to go to the training to see the behind the scenes and analyze the business. What I can say is that changed my life because the experiences you go through in such a training are MUCH intense. From that on I decided that I was going into the self-development route. Worked some 9-5 a little bit to pay for the courses and did the NLP, Coaching and Hypnosis certificated course. And then I started grinding my a$$ off.
Moved to the city where this friend were working(he's a doctor) and started to do some Coaching/Therapy there. Earn a pretty good money in 4 months - enough to pay the leader training, NLP course and stuff. Set a website about personal development, did even 1 public speaking to an audience of about 100 people but ended up going back to my home town. It was a great experience and opened my eyes to possibilities in the world. There were some old ladies that paid me R$ 100/hour to do therapy with me (tell me their problems and apply some NLP techniques on them)
After that things slowed down a little bit, because I feel this area is a bit tricky. The majority of people doesnt care that much about personal development. They prefer being lazy F*cks and just go through the motions and up being fat, broke and depressed.
But I'm getting back on momentum now. Currently my projects are a personal development blog - wich I use to prospect clients to my online coaching, growing an instagram account to gain more visibility and starting a youtube channel about book reviews, coaching/personal development tips and other interesting things.
It's not that fastlane, I know. But at this point I'm aiming more for the geographic freedom and earning a decent living for myself with something that I've created, to show me is possible.
The problem is, I'm not where I wanted to be. I'm struggling with my 'business' because of the mindset part. I dont wanna be a F*cking lier guru that just spills shit out with no background experience. So I'm more focused now on having a decent success with my Youtube channel(earning $3-4k month) to then expose myself agressively. But this keeps me kinda slow on my site, producing content, building email list, driving traffic, etc.
It's really rare to me to seek for other people opinions but at this point I find myself kind of lost. But I'm going to ask your opinions about this. If you were in my place what would you do to leverage things up and accelerate the process?
I'd love to hear from you guys, and I'm totally open for feedback.
