Hi everyone, MJ DeMarco was talking to us about the importance of goals in our lives and if, and I quote: If you're physically, mentally, and geographically able to pursue your dreams—your best life— you're already living the dream. Yes, I agree, I am living the dream life now. At 18, I live in the moment and I am happy RIGHT NOW, IN THE PRESENT.
I am living my purpose. BUT what next? Let me clarify a little... I am 18 and I am not poor, I don't have to worry about money right now and I understand that making a REALLY BIG income is not a problem for me and I will have no problems in my life financially (thanks MJ).
I live in the here and now, without thinking about plans, but I feel a little depressed because no project captivates me, a hobby? I always know what the end result will be. Learn a new language? Why? I don't need it and I will do it just to suppress the boredom of my life. And so with everything.
Yes, I do meditation, keep a gratitude journal, but it doesn’t take more than two hours a day. My purpose is to live for my family and make them happy every day, bring value to their lives. Because I came to the conclusion that living for myself is somehow boring, I don’t know why? Well, you bought a new iPhone, went on vacation, and then what? This is a fleeting joy that passes after a while. I live my purpose now - I live for my family and do everything to make them happy. Money doesn’t matter to me now. But I also get very bored sometimes, my hobbies don’t appeal to me, and basically everything else I do in life is to suppress boredom. I read so I don’t get bored, I sit on the forum. Why? Because I’m bored. Workout? Yes, it greatly increases your strength and condition, but workouts don’t last more than 1-2 hours a day. I even started playing video games because it was just fun and I somehow spent my time. Developing my business, why? Because I’m bored. Help... I'm not saying that I'm not happy, I'm already living my purpose.
But there are 5-6 free hours of my time during which I am in a state of boredom and don’t understand what to do with it. Meditation, journal, workout, time with family, self-development takes up half of the day. I just don't need other hobbies or interests. I don't have any problems or things that can be solved. I already live the way I want.
And when my brain is not busy with something, I think, what should I do now? And basically all the actions (reading books, meditation, journaling, business development, video games) happen simply because I am bored. Or is it??? Am I looking for dopamine?
