A combination of things let me to this thought today. Read the whole post before you make judgments about what my point is. It may be misleading or seem to have no purpose relating to this forum at first.
I tried to imagine what it would be like during Pearl Harbor the day of the attack.
I tried to imagine what sort of rage I would be completely filled with if many of my friends were wounded and I watched them die.
Imagine what sort of Rage or vengeance you would like to inflict on the opposition as I'm sure those men felt that day.
Now many of these angry men filled with rage joined the armed forces and went to war as history tells us.
But. . . This imaginary person I am understands that if I was to follow the grain and volunteer as the others.
I would only be able to accomplish so much. Imagine I'm so angry and filled with rage I want to take the whole enemy down my self. this does not satisfy me.
But I have 1 thing many of the others lack.
Brain Power and I intend to use it.
So imagine I dedicate the next few years of my life working on this idea of mine called the "atomic bomb"
It will be so huge and devastating its capable of wiping out a whole city and ending the conflict right in its tracks.
Now imagine I did not tell anyone about my idea and no one knew of my ambitions.
One day I come out of nowhere with my device and Nagasaki and Hiroshima are almost completely gone. (I'm not at all insisting you should work on something that will hurt anyone, and I can sincerely say my heart goes out to anyone who was effected by the actions of that day ) But pay attention to the analogy.
What did I just accomplish that millions of my fellow country man have been trying to do the past few years through there blood and best efforts?
I ended a war, inflicted considerably more damage on the opposition then was inflicted on us. I just single handedly did more damage then anyone man arguably ever inflicted.
I want you to ask yourself, if put in similar circumstances retaining to your own situation.
Both are capable of getting the job done.
Both aim to accomplish the same goal.
Both WILL work.
But which are you?
In order to make a point I understand emotions might be touched and harsh feelings may surface. I used to be in the Army as a Infantryman and I understand how a vet of WWII may react to this more then the majority of you. I also respect then more because part of me understands.
So leave out any negative replies if it has to do with what actually happened. This is somewhat of a fictional post.

- It did not cost me billions upon billions of dollars worth of equipment and a logistical nightmare.
- It did not cost millions of my fellow country mens lives.
- I did not do it by sitting in trenches and firing away as everyone else was (the men who did do this were braver and more courageous then I ever could imagine being, but this does not mean they are smarter)
- I accomplished what everyone else wanted to get done...but my own way. Using a method that was completely unheard of. I stopped and thought how far I can push reality.
- What I did was SMARTER, not harder

- Are you building the Atomic Bomb?
- Or are you volunteering?
