Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and have just ordered the book. I found it while I was searching Google on something I read in Think and Grow Rich. I am in the Maryland/metro DC area wondering if there are any attorneys here thinking outside of the box regarding their practice?
As for some background on me, I have always worked for myself. I came out of law school and started my own firm. I actually stumbled into it actually due to the job market.
Long story short, just last November, my wife kicked the work-a-day program for the man and we started a firm together focusing on plaintiff's personal injury work.
Our goal is to deliver our practice different than most of the PI attorneys in our area. So, no, we are not stressing "free consultation" and all that crap. We are in the process of getting our book to our publisher, pushing our blogs (8 to date), and trying to upload as many helpful videos to YouTube as we can. We believe that if we can deliver a service to the public built on TRUST & INFORMATION we can really stick out of the pack.
If there are any other attorneys here who have their own practices and are bucking the typical law school mantra, "top 10% of your class, law review, moot court & mock trial, so you can go work for someone else and HOPE you make the partner track," let me know. I would love to speak with you and see if we can possibly build a "Master Mind" group.
For my wife and I things are slow right now business wise because we will not take just any case which comes through the door (we have a specific type of client we are trying to reach). However, we have a better quality of life now that we are both on the same page and have a definite chief aim.
