In 2018 I started my first business. Being a scientist turning to business owner (or so I thought) was the hardest thing I had to overcome in my life so far. Giving up perfection for functionality was a huuuuuge leap for me. I'm totally aware that many of you guys are laughing their tails off right now. Anyway, I did my best to learn the skills of business and gradually grew into my new role. Gradually... I partnered with the wrong partners. I threw money out of the window for false advice on marketing. I felt totally overwhelmed most of the time. But I never gave up. I'm still in the game - and still not earning my living with this business. So, no Big San Francisco-finale right now.
At the beginning of the year (no New Year's resolution) I changed my approach. I'm now quite brutal about where I allocate my time and with whom. My efficiency stepped up another level. And I turned into marketing. I found the right resources for me that teach me the right stuff. I am applying these principles right now. This changed my view on business completely. Most of you guys might shake their heads when reading this. But for my skewed scientific mind it was a long jump to become who I am right now.
For the first time, I know what to do and how to do it. For the first time, I'm in total control of my business after terminating all toxic business relationships (not the people are toxic, but the business aspect wasn't right for neither side).
