Hi. Don't you think that the number of barriers to enter literally any business has increased tremendously within the last 5 years?
I mean, literally most of the branches of industry have been monopolised by big corporations (for example food).
Opening a small grocery store would be literally impossible now (in Europe at least) mostly because of taxes and regulations.
Online business? Same story. You have to be top notch in YouTube, Instagram, TikTok.
Wanna start a cooking channel? Great. There are hundred thousands of YouTube channels out there to compete with you, some of them with millions of subscribers, professional equipment, video editors and social media agencies working for them.
Wanna do GoPro videos? Awesome! There are already people on YouTube climbing Mount Everest or even sky scrapers with balls of steel and without any protection, ropes, and with millions of subscribers.
Wanna start a langauge school? What a great idea! There are already thousands of language schools to compete with, with huge ad budget, huge Instagram accounts and YouTube Channels that are monopolizing the market.
I mean, nowadays you literally have to compete with the whole world in order to exist in any market branch, mostly because of the huge monopolist and social media. And the question is: can you really win this fight? I mean, the distance between us - normal people and those big players out there is getting bigger. And it doesn't mean any good. I've seen people with huge YouTube channels getting depressed, because after years of uploading attention-grabbing videos they just couldn't anymore come up with video and thumbnail ideas to gain attention of the viewers and their channels would literally just die.
What are your thoughts?
