I'm looking to start a small ecommerce business. I decided on a line of products, got a tax ID number, incorporated etc. I have found suppliers for the line of products I'm interested in selling, but have a couple questions first...
Most suppliers want trade references listed when filling out their applications. At this point because I'm just starting out, I have none. If my applications are initially rejected by a few suppliers because of this, can I reapply for wholesale pricing at a later date (once I DO have trade references), and still be taken seriously?
Also, most suppliers ask for a description of your store in the application. I don't really want to invest in building a website before getting a handle on the wholesale prices and potential profit margins. Should I build a rudimentary site first (on Yahoo Stores, Prostores etc) with no products yet, OR leave that particular space on the application blank and hope for the best?
Any advice or opinions would be great. Thanks for your help!
