I have heard many people say being a salesman is the worst of the worst but the more i research i find so many millionaires and billionaires will owe success to at once being a salesman. Rejection is so important to be able to take. I am not sure why salesman get such a bad name.
I was reading about John Paul DeJoria who started Paul Mitchell hair products, he starting selling things door to door, and yes even door to door on Paul Mitchell products.
I once worked in sales and hated it but realized how much better some guys were than me and they could literally sell anything.
I am going to start selling my e-product through cold calling in about 2 months and think this is something many people overlook due to the dream of automation. These people started door to door, sometimes sending a mass email blast is not going to make you a millionaire. My goal is to get the product to cater to a specific target market and get a perfect sales pitch down, if i see success i higher more salesman. Commission on product makes sense and is realistic if they can turn over sales. My approach may not be the ideal "fastlane" business but i see myself being able to bring it from me slamming phones, to many people calling for me. Automation would be great and 100% internet advertising would be great but its just not my thing.
Any advice for my soon to be tasks or stories regarding sales in your life for better or worse would be appreciated.
