MJ recently moved a bunch of nonsense-threads (like "Watch me become a billionaire in 2 months..." type threads) to a dark corner of the forum where they belong
Well I saw this study today and couldn't help but think of this. It really supports why these types of threads are a waste of everyone's time (including the poster, lol).

Basically, the study found that by telling people what our goals are, it might actually work the opposite way. Our brains can trick us into thinking we at least partially have achieved something our that we made progress to getting there somehow - in effect making you take less action to get there.
Don't misunderstand - goals are great to have and shouldn't be dismissed. But unless you have a dead set, realistic plan of steps you will accomplish (such as on a todo-list that you can mark off of and follow up) - then you may be wasting your breath trying to proclaim all your goals to others.
I believe this also applies more to complete beginners who haven't started anything yet, than it does to someone who has already achieved a lot over time. In other words, it makes sense for someone who has reached their first $50k, then $100k, then $150k to say "next, I'm shooting for $200k!". Nothing wrong with that.
But if you live in your mom's basement and you're still torn between flipping websites, becoming an affiliate, selling stuff on Amazon, or get into real estate - then saying "I'm gonna make $100k in 30 days whatever that takes" - then you are 99.99% likely NOT to accomplish that.
Just my 2 cents.
