Everyone here is either in the fastlane, or getting there. But that doesn't stop us from loving and using free and cheap services/products. Why would we use them even though we can afford 'better' things?
Simple: free is sometimes better. Most of the time 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.
Here is a list of things I love that are free online:
* Google Apps
* Wikipedia
* Part of my libraries collection in e-book format
* Training videos & articles
* Anime
* Craigslist
* Search and local search
* Ubuntu Linux (Debian and & Arch fan, but I'm too busy to deal with those two anymore)
* DD-WRT
* Applications (ie: open source stuff)
* Open-source / royalty free intro's, music, clipart
And a slew of others.
Offline:
* Free movies (drive in's, walk in's, library... ect)
* Free concerts (especially Mozart & Bach)
* Free shows (like fireworks)
* Nature
* 'Free' samples at Costo and the like.
* Thrift stores & Garage/Estate sales (Sadly I have yet to see an Armani at either)
* Cultural events
* Free networking meetings
* Business listings
* Cheap: city chamber of commerce, speaking groups, networkings groups/events
* meetups (yes, from the site so this is partially online) and internations (fun AND great place to meet entrepreneurs).
What are you favorite free things online and off?
