:icon_super:I am almost done with the nuts n bolts of my website and Jones'ing to get the ball rolling on implementation and marketing. My service will connect suppliers who have excess capacity to companies and individuals requiring components within a narrow vertical niche market, both in the US and worldwide. Having worked in this particular industry over 10 years, I'm starting off with a huge rolodex to market to along with information, resources, and knowledge of the software applications involved and how to communicate the manufacturing information from diverse and confusing file formats, code output, and design scenarios. One VERY IMPORTANT detail I continue to be wishy-washy on is the best revenue model. Initially we considered ad based, lead generation, and subscription based, along with a combination of all the preceding models. I'm having a hard time developing a model that satisfies revenue goals without subscriptions being the primary generator of revenues. What has been other's experience with B2B service and revenue generation models? Is it reasonable to expect subscription revenues to grow quickly and what is the fastest route to growing them? Is a subscription model not a good plan or should it be secondary to other revenue models? Am I missing or ignoring other viable revenue sources for such a system? I've got to make a decision on this soon, any feedback is greatly appreciated!!!
