Hello!
I am new here. I have read many self development and financial books, but never thought about joining a community. Found this forum from TMF book. Already have read many threads. Want to introduce myself.
I am a 32 years old man from Latvia. In my 20s I have never thought about finances, had many jobs and lived for the weekend.
I awoke and started to think about the future when I started working abroad. When I was 26 years old I got a good job offer abroad and went from 12k job in my home country to 60k abroad with 6 days a week 10-12 hours a day. After some years I got a raise to 85k. I never lived a fancy life even when I started to earn bigger salary. All those years my necessary spendings never reached 20%. Now I earn 120k but my living costs are still the same as I was living with 60k. I have invested in real estate in my home country. Income from those units will cover my living costs back home.
I have also bought me a flat and I have an emergency cash fund which would be enough to live from for 2-3 years if income would stop. I have started trucking business with 90k and bought 3 used trucks while I am still in a job.
In best scenario they could earn me max. 50k on perfect conditions. But there are never perfect conditions in this business. The very start was very hard, many months I was getting negative income. Trucks always break, they need maintenance and so on. So in first year the return was 16k. That is still a win. To increase the income I must pray to god that those peaces of metal wont break or at least double the amount of trucks. To do this I must go all in with my money and my time.
To go all in I must leave my 120k job and go back home. And that is a headache for me. 120k is 10x higher salary than a regular in my home country. Having a job I feel safe, I save a lot and I get money to invest. But I dont have time. It could be a good slow lane to stay 5 more years and get more real estate.
The decision I have already made Im going back next month. I talked with some friends about the situation and they think I am crazy to let this job go.
Now every morning and every bed time I am confused, I cant get a good rest. I keep thinking if decision was good.
How do you deal psychologically with these inner problems and anxiety ?
Cheers, Daris.
