Hi everyone!
I'm a surgical tech (aka Scrub) in an Operating Room in Utah, a job I've been doing for 7 years now... it seems like 20 years though
I truly enjoy helping people and working with the surgeons and nurses, but I had to come to a decision about the road I was on a couple months ago. I just won't be able to scrub for another 40 years. Dealing with the life and death stress, physical/ manual labor, the politics, and the healthcare corporation mentality that ALL employees, even the ones that put their heart and soul into their work to keep patients safe and happy, are disposable, has run me ragged. I'm far too young to feel like such an old lady!
Fortunately, I stumbled across MJ's book whilst on an Amazon shopping binge...>__> an activity that has ceased since reading about the Fastlane! No longer a mere consumer, am I! Since reading the book, the ol' hamster wheel finally started turning! The ideas have been numerous and my motivation has shifted into high gear. I want to make products to help my fellow healthcare workers. Having an INSIDERS view of what goes on in the Operating Room and how to problem solve efficiently (a MUST to work in the OR) and being able to deal with even the most outrageous personalities are the only skills I come to the table with... I have no business knowledge/education D:
I have some serious homework and research to do and am really excited to be able to communicate with, and learn from such a great collection of business people!
