I've got a few questions about this.
1. I need to know when I should purchase a corporation, which kind to choose, and if I don't do that sooner than later, will I get into trouble or can someone somehow steal my work?
2. I know basic HTMl and CSS and I've just barely scratecd the surface with true programming languages like C++, java, javascript, allegro and PHP. The thing is I have no idea where to start in terms of what I should start to build and how to structure the entire site...etc I don't know what I need to know so if someone who does know can point me to a rich source(s) that would be extremely helpful.
3. Overall, what can I read or study that will give me a higher view, or understanding of everything I'm dealing with here?
Hmm lets see, I'll brainstorm right here:
The Site/Coding - (which is the very thing that will solve the needs of)
Legal aspects - (copywrites, patents, deciding a legal business entity....idk what else)
Hardware - (servers to backup user generated content)
Funding - I'm not sure when I'll actually need any funding. Maybe when the site gets so popular I'll have to buy some servers. I'll have to aim to be generating revenue by that time so that I won't have to take out loans or get distracted with working some other job to by the necessary hardware.
Human Resources - customer service reps, accountant(s), lawyer(s), programmers, mods, SEO staff,
Security - Idk who I'd hire to take care of making sure the transaction process is secure so that my clients or me don't get ripped off by a hacker
Promotion - SEO, video pitch sqeeze pages for agents, emails to agent and customer lists,
government approval - idk if I need some kind of government approval or if there's some type of guidelines I have follow and stay in line with to avoid being shutting down and letting uncle sam know I'm doing things with integrity and ethically.
Assets - the web page, cash, email lists, excellent human resources, reputation, hardware, customer service, patents.....
Me - I want to get my bachelors in business to at least have some formal understanding of business theory to help keep my organized and making informed decisions. MJ talks about understanding money in the world of finance so that I've got more power and personal protection. I'm taking accounting in school, taking an economics course as well, with statistics and pre-calculus.
I can begin to build the site with the time I've got to spare while I finish school. Once I've finished with school I can work full time on my site till I get a job that can help me invest into company resources like hardware and extra help from programmers until the site it built. I can test it to make sure it's functioning properly with early promotion and then plan a full scale promotional strategy.
From there I can do what MJ did and use the feedback that pours in to improve the site and make my cubs are thrilled with their service and results.
Should my revenue pass what I earn at my job I'll quit and go full time on it, as I would have wanted to do from the start, should I have never needed funding in the first place. I live at home with mama so it's not like I have rent to pay or food to pay for. She'll be glad she took care of me =D
hmmm.. then way. There are other stages of developement that I'd like to know are ahead of me so that I can do my best to transition from stage to stage as smoothely as possible.
I don't want to be planning for too long though. I just want to start building today!
