So I'm about 60% through Ca$hvertising - Great book to anyone who hasn't read it yet. My question is to those who have read it and studied the strategies, or anyone who has successful online marketing experience.

If you're offering a "30 Day Free Trial" for a monthly subscription idea, do you think that it is smarter to collect their credit card information on sign up, or after the 30 day free trial if they'd like to continue. Basically our concept would be offering one free digital product either monthly or bi-weekly, we haven't hashed that out yet, but that's why I chose 30 day.

Psychologically, I would think after the 30 days, if they got an expiration notice they would just let it go and not proceed to sign up with their credit card. However, if they signed up for the 30 day free trial with their credit card from the start when they were amped up about starting the service, they'd be more likely to continue to use it. Not that I want to "trick" anyone into using anything, but lets be honest i'm sure a lot of us have a subscription to something we don't utilize as much as we did on day 1. When I first got Netflix I qued up about 30 different things during my free trial. Now I haven't turned it on in about 2 months and yet I've spent $10/mo towards it.

Also, for a digital service like this, what do you think is more effective: "100% Money back guarantee" or "X Day Free Trial!" I feel like the free trial is more applicable to a subscription based product.
