It has become increasingly clear to me that Americans, even many highly educated ones, have very little to no knowledge about basic economics. Our economy is going to shit, and we keep making the same mistakes over and over yet nobody seems to even notice.
I've been looking at other websites trying to figure out a way I can turn this into a business. There is plenty of information on the topic, both good and bad, and while most people will admit they have never read or taken any classes on the subject, they still won't acknowledge their poor understanding of the subject.
It seems that most people are interested in the politics of econ and arguing about it more than learning. I know I can provide value in the form of good information, but I'm not sure if I could attract and retain an audience. Is it a waste of time trying to find an audience and convince them that they would benefit from information that they may not even be looking for?
What about a website focusing on basic economics, basic finance, and general money-saving ideas...somehow catering towards helping the average-Joe?
