I'm curious why I don't see more threads about owning car washes. One of my mentors is a car wash guy. He has a company that will do everything for you if you want to enter that business. They do all the due diligence in locating a good spot, advising on what type of wash will be best in that location, building it, and finally running the wash. Everything from start to finish. They also have a near 100% success rate (the 4 washes that failed were do to the owners going against what was said. ie: building in a bad spot because the owner already owned that land.)
Anyways these car washes cost a lot to get in, around a million to start and up to $3 million+ for a top of line full service deal, but the returns are undeniable. My mentor has never seen his go below 25% ROI each year. Usually is it in the 30's. That equates to a $250k/yr very hands off business. Nice place to invest your fastlane earned money IMO.
If you have any questions about car washes (or any type or wash for that matter as he does any kind of wash you ask for - ie: he built specialty designed washes for fighter jets for the airforce. $50M a piece.) I speak to him on a regular basis and can ask him directly any questions that you all might have that I don't personally know the answer to.
